How To Choose The Right Type of Water Storage Tank For Your Home?

The Right Type of Water Storage

A water tank is a storage body reserving water. A water storage tank is a container that can hold water for both home and industrial purposes. The proper understanding of buying a water storage tank, water storage procedures and high-quality equipment is significant. Water storage and distribution is a provision that enables public utilities, corporate entities, communities, companies, or individuals to store and supply water to consumers of acceptable quality, quantity, and pressure, often via a system of pumps and pipes.

Water storage tanks can be used for drinking, irrigation, agriculture, and a variety of other purposes. These tanks are built with three major components: tank design, tank lining, and tank construction material. Water storage tanks are typically kept outside, exposed to elements such as dust, wind, and rain. These body parts may expose you to pests, bacteria, and viruses. As a result, the best method of water storage must be chosen.

Materials such as Fibreglass, concrete, Plastic, and steel, are used to construct water tanks. However, Polyethene is the most commonly used material among these. Polyethene’s smooth texture makes it easier to clean and maintain; its lightweight makes it easy to transport and store.

Some of the commonly used water tanks are:

  • Steel tanks:

Steel tanks are cost-effective, long-lasting, and adaptable. These steel tanks are used for various purposes, including fire suppression, industrial process water, and rainwater collection.

  • Folding Tanks:

Folding tanks are another excellent alternative for storing portable water storage. These tanks can be moved or put up a fraction of the time. Because these tanks collapse to a considerably smaller size, they can be readily carried to any location, making them perfect for firefighting or distant places.

  • Underground tanks:

These are made of UV-stabilized polyethene and are rotationally manufactured. They are also known as septic tanks because they are built to withstand soil forces that might otherwise fracture regular tanks. These tanks are particularly sturdy, and they do not rust even without a protective layer. Underground tanks are ideal when space is at a premium.

  • Polyethylene Tanks:

These plastic tanks and fittings (standardised ASTM pipe) are ideal for people on a small budget who do not want a large tank. They’re easy to transport because of their modest size. One popular application for this sort of tank is rainwater collection. Another example is home water storage. Polyethylene tanks come in various colours. This prevents algae from growing by blocking the sun.

  • Fibreglass Storage Tanks:

These tanks are in the centre of the price bracket of several of the tanks we’ve discussed here. They may not store massive amounts of water, but they perform the job perfectly. Caustic water is stored in aboveground fibreglass tanks. This involves the storage of trash, potable water, and rainwater. These tanks are also useful for storing liquids other than water.

  • Stainless Steel Tanks:

Stainless steel is another convenient addition for water storage. However, they are not only used for water. Stainless steel is a wonderful storage solution for winemaking, breweries to the dairy and chocolate industries. Because of the safety given by stainless steel, it can be utilised for whatever the needs are, even drinking water.

  • Collapsible Pillow Tanks:

Collapsible Pillow tanks, also known as Inflatable Pillow tanks, are tanks that are used to store fluids such as oils, chemicals, and water. These are only transitory and can be inflated as needed.

Plastic tanks are most commonly employed within housing units and dwellings. This is because of its environmental friendliness, ease of use/installation, and low maintenance and purchase cost. So, when it comes to quality vs money, it’s pretty much the best. Whether it is the purpose of usage or budget, tanks for water storage solutions are available for everyone, choose yours wisely.
